15 Minute Housekeeping-3in30 Update

I love this new method of doing the housework! It got a little messed up this week as I needed to run some errands one morning, but it was so easy to get things back on track by adding an extra 15 minute room onto the following day.

The biggest thing is that I don’t feel overwhelmed by the house, or like I have housework looming over my head. If I’ve run laundry and done my three 15 minute rooms, I’m done. It makes it so much easier to settle to extra projects and so on. Which means overall I accomplish more.

The only room that hasn’t been cleaned yet this week is mine. It’s on the list for today, and several of the rooms have been done twice. A few things have gotten done that I never got to (like vacuuming the laundry room).

In other 3in30 news we had a good “off week” from school…next week we start the first six weeks of our 2011-2012 session so today is “print stuff” day in between getting ready for a hurricane.

I been managing some exercise and my neck seems better so I’m hoping to keep expanding that.

Altogether August has been a good month. Thanks for all the encouragement!

    Great job!
I would LOVE to know more about this 15 minute cleaning…
Can you point me in the right direction?

Great job on your goals this month!
And thank you so much for your tips on getting my picky eater to help and therefore EAT! 🙂

I may have to try your 15 minute housekeeping idea. My little one has decided to only sleep about 30 min at a time during the day and I’ve been struggling to get things done! 🙂

    Jenni,

I find the nicest thing about it is the way I’m less pressured by the housework. Persevere on napping too, there is no reason your little one can’t learn to play quietly in bed for the specified napping period and she may learn to just drift back off to sleep…W did that for a while at about this age…K

I really love the fact that you took what you felt needed to be done and made it work for you! 15 minutes! Love it!
