Farmer’s Market Report: October 26,2010

This week I really splurged on greens, we love them in all kinds of dishes and there are plenty at Byrd House Market right now.

I spent just under $30 dollars and got:

1 pound each of baby zucchini and summer squash

1 medium head of cabbage

1 large bunch of Swiss chard

3 heads of broccolli

1 large bunch of parsley

1 large bag (about a 2 gallon bag) of mixed greens

1 dozen eggs

1 bunch kale

5 zinnias

This will pretty much take care of our vegetables for the week. We’ve already used up the Swiss Chard and the squash and zucchini for our weekly open house dinner.
