Garden Progress

Saturday was fairly warm and the pea plants were too big to keep inside anymore.

There was some other work that needed to be done too, so out we went.

The big children moved the dirt from the old strawberry planter.

Meanwhile Bull and I finished prepping a spot for the peas.

I had moved several loads of compost into the pea bed earlier in the week, so planting the peas went fairly quickly. This was a good thing as Jack is not entirely sure that crawling around in the yard is something he enjoys and is happy for about five minutes at a time!

I didn’t get a picture of the finished bed for exactly that reason. Oh, well at least the peas are growing (in fact I think they’ve almost doubled in height since Saturday and I need to put up a trellis. I wonder if the frame of the futon the neighbor is throwing away would work?
