Market Report April 5, 2011

Today's Market Haul

Today at long last I got down to Byrd House Market’s Renegade Market in time to actually be able to buy something. Before the time change they started earlier and the market and nap-time were? simultaneous occurrences.

Anyway I was hoping for some kind of greens for a salad and was very pleased to find that several vendors had a good variety of either late winter or early spring greens.

Chard, Kale and Leeks for Victory Farms.

From Victory Farms: A bundle of collards (overwintered), a bunch of leeks, a rutabaga, a bag of kale, and another bag of Swiss chard.

From Faith Farm: two dozen eggs.

Eggs from Faith Farms.

Tonight we’ll have this recipe from Mark Bittman, plus some variant on pizza…(the children requested it) and I’ll probably make a salad too…..
