It’s another beautiful evening. The children are playing on the sidewalk in front of the house, S is off at a bike race, and Jack and I are on the front porch enjoying the evening. I’m just musing over the week past and the week to come. I keep being asked to look at a chalk drawing, or admire a new bike trick, so this will probably be a bit disjointed.
Highlights of the week:
I finished embroidering the front of a pillow I’m making for Mouse’s room. I’m trying to have handwork to do while I’m teaching school and this project has been sitting for a while, so I’m glad to have this part of it finished.
Both big children finished a unit of reading and phonics. Buggle is now in Unit 4 of Second Grade (there are five units total) and Mouse is in Unit 2.
Bull learned to ride a two wheel bike. He has training wheels but is SO pleased to be able to ride a bike like the big children.
The big children perfected their “bike tricks” and added a few. My favorite is “riding sidesaddle” which Mouse calls “saddle riding”.
I got some garden work done, and the weather looks likely to allow me to do some more next week.
All in all a good week!
