Turning

“To everything turn, turn, turn

There is a season, turn, turn, turn

And a time to every purpose under heaven.

A time to be born,

A time to die…”

A time to raise children,

A time for them to be grown

A time to do laundry,

A time to do none…

We could go on with this list of? contrasts, for ever. There is truly a time for every purpose under heaven.

As I think of time and the lack I often find/feel of enough time – I keep having to ask myself: Are the things I spend my time on “purposes” or “distractions”?

This week I’ll be focusing on thoughts about turning, whether the turning of seasons and years, the turning of hearts, in relationships, in forgiveness, and in repentance, or just the constant refocusing that we all find necessary as living distracts us from life.

I want to know: What distracts us? What refocuses us? and what brings healing after we turn?? I want to explore too how we deal with the turning of seasons and years in our lives, and how do we acknowledge the passing of time and even celebrate it without fear?
