Whew!

Well this was the first of the busy four weekends – no wait – it’s actually five that we have between now and the end of January!

Friday S was off work and the big children and I went to church to help with the decorating.
Saturday we cooked most of the day and then went to church in the evening for the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord.
Yesterday church at 10 am then home again to enjoy Christmas dinner with friends- complete with Christmas crackers for all! Thanks, you guys!

King W

I do enjoy this kind of thing- the good china that was my great-grandmother’s wedding china brought from Germany, candles, and a nicely laid table for the children too…

Ready and waiting!

The whole thing just seems more celebratory when there is company to share it with and the “best” things are brought out to enjoy!

We get to do something similar again this coming weekend with an Open House for New Year’s Day in the afternoon.

Then the weekend of January 8th my parents and grandfather are coming for the Feast of the Epiphany/Three Kings Day when we’ll exchange gifts. That Sunday is our church’s annual Epiphany Lessons and Carols service so I’ll have an extra choir practice in there too.

Martin Luther King weekend is next and S will be out of town, so the children and I will go visit my sister and her family on their farm about three hours from here. Visits with them are always lively since her eldest child is seven months older than F, her second child is six weeks or so younger than Su and her youngest is a year younger than W!

The following weekend (are you still with me?) we go to visit S’s grandmother to celebrate her 90th birthday! This is just a day trip, but as several of S’s other family members are planning to come in from out of state I expect we’ll have company most of that week.

It’s good. I’m sure we’ll enjoy each weekend’s activity and I’m also sure we’ll be happy to have a slower February! Not sure how much blogging I’ll get done, but I’ll try to keep you up to date at least!
