Although it feels like there ought to be a new church season with the change of summer to fall, back to school celebrations and all we are still in Ordinary Time.? As the heat of summer eases and we move onward towards Advent, we are also building towards the celebrations of the saints, both the ordinary ones like us and those extraordinary ones who where given to the church as examples and teachers.
For about a year now I have been getting a daily email with a short biography of a saint remembered on that day, and I find that although they were very different in their backgrounds and their service, that all shared the Christ-like qualities of love and humility, towards both God and their fellow man. How can we emulate them?
